What are "Albion Circuits"?

This is a way for collectors of every age and every interest to trade stamps.  There are three types of Circuits, Pre-1950's Circuit, Post-1950's Circuit, and Catalogue Value Circuits (USA only).  It is set up so that people can fill in the gaps in their collections.  Circuits are put together based on the collectors interests.

What are the Pre-1950's and Post-1950's circuits?

It is exactly what it sounds like.  Pre-1950's circuit are trading stamps anywhere from 1840-1950, mainly older stamps.  Post-1950's are trading stamps from 1951-2004.  These stamps are mainly lower value stamps, trading is based on condition, not value!  In each circuit, there should be about 300 stamps or so.  The last person on the list for the circuit has to include $1.00 in either cash or mint postage for the next sending of a circuit.  Circuits will be mixed up so that no one will be the last person every time.

What is the Catalogue Value Circuits?

This is a circuit which stamps are traded on a catalogue value basis.  This circuit is only available to those living in the USA because insurance charges are expensive for international collectors.  The only catalogues that should be used are either Scott's or/and Stanley Gibbon's.  Stamps taken out of the circuit should be of the same or similar condition and catalogue value.  Insurance must be used for all Catalogue Value Circuits.  The catalogue value per stamp should be $5.- to $250.-.  The last person on the list for the circuit has to include $2.00 in either cash or mint postage for the next sending of a circuit.  Circuits will be mixed up so that no one will be the last person every time.

How many people are their per circuit round and how long do they last?

Generally, there are no more than 4-5 people.  Domestic circuits should only last about a month or so.  International circuits should last about 1 ½ months to 2 months.

I received a circuit, what do I do?

For the Pre/Post-1950's circuits: Look through the stamps and describe the overall condition of which they arrived on the circuit sheet.  Take out the stamps that are needed for your collection and put back the same number of stamps and of the same condition.  Then place the stamps in something for mailing and send it to the next person on the list.  Make sure the circuit sheet is with the stamps for the next person!  Please try to fill the next person's wantlist.

For the Catalogue Value Circuit: Look through the stamps and described what you have received, condition, etc.  Take the stamps that are needed out and replace it with something of the same value and similar condition.  Place the stamps in a safe piece of mailing and you NEED to include insurance on this.  Insurance should be either what you think it is worth OR the catalogue value.  Please try to fill something on the next person's wantlist.

How long should I have each circuit for?

Anyone who receives a circuit should have it for no longer than 5-7 business days.  Please take care of the circuits in a timely fashion so that more can be sent out and so that it can be finished quicker.

Are there any fee's to join the circuits?

There is a very minimal fee to join this circuit, only stamps/½ year.  Each period of 6 months requires that you to send in at least 100+ stamps.  This is so that the stock of stamps for the circuits can stay fresh.  Each person will be part of at least 10 circuits in a 6 month period (may be way more!).  If you insist on money instead of stamps, please send in the appropriate price for 200+ stamps.  Money will be used for buying more circuit stamps and postage.

Where do I report any problems to?

All problems should be reported to me, Andrew Titley, ASAP so that I can look into it.  The e-mail address is stated just below.  Any problem with other members should be reported so that I do not include them in another circuit.
